Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It’s been just a few years since the publication of my second edition, and the book is still out of print, so my publisher has asked me to publish a revised and corrected third edition.
What can I say? An unexpected success that makes me very happy, of course, but I’m truly happy because in just a few years, the use of Botulinum Toxin has changed radically!
Anatomical knowledge has improved exponentially, and small details that until recently were not entirely clear have become clearer thanks to numerous anatomical master classes and cadaver dissections, which are extremely important for understanding where and at what level injections should actually be performed!
Clinical Anatomy knowledge has improved dramatically, as has the way we study patients, understand the different muscles involved, and their mutual synergies, which will determine the different movement patterns that can be treated with different final units.
The injection method therefore required me to change many extremely important details, resulting in a significant improvement in results, patient satisfaction, and my own personal satisfaction. I wanted to translate this satisfaction into the satisfaction of my fellow aesthetic doctors and users of this wonderful drug in the field of aesthetic medicine.
I have therefore improved (in my opinion) some fundamental chapters, such as the anatomical section and the section on clinical anatomy and practical patient treatment.
We have added many videos to the practical section and many anatomical studies that can be useful and preparatory to fully understanding the details and therefore treating patients with greater awareness and knowledge.
I have maintained my usual philosophy of practicality, following the saying: “Don’t show me how good you are, show me how you get results!”
And this is what I asked my co-authors, all of whom are very talented, experienced, and highly skilled at achieving excellent results with innovative, detailed techniques.
I therefore hope I’ve hit the right layout this time too: practical but with clear, comprehensive explanations, with anatomical and, above all, comprehensive clinical references, which will make you say, I hope, “Of course, how could I not have thought of that before!”
So, what can I say: happy reading, everyone, even those who purchased previous editions, because there are many changes, and I hope all readers will appreciate the updating work that has been done, which, in my opinion, makes this edition interesting and still worth reading for everyday help, for those who work in the field and sometimes have doubts that I hope this book will resolve.
As always, I’m open to any criticism, and I hope to see you all again for a fourth edition in the future!
Introduction by Prof. Redaelli, author of the book.
