Facial Anatomy & Volumizing Injections – I Volume

This book is aimed at both experienced physicians who wish to deepen their knowledge of anatomy, as well as physicians in training or beginners who wish to learn how to inject according to the latest anatomical evidence. I hope it will be useful in your daily practice!

This second edition, seven years later, summarizes the experience gained from conducting more than 100 dissection courses and masterclasses. New, more explanatory anatomical photos have been added and replaced, a new section on the deep anatomy of the zygomatic/temporal region has been added, and some techniques I have stopped using have been removed. The replacement and/or addition of new anatomical photos is intended to make the book even more understandable.

By opening this book, the reader will explore the new world of facial fat compartment anatomy. Through the analysis of over 400 images of fresh, focused cadaver dissections, they will discover the clinical anatomy needed to perform modern, safe, and effective injection procedures in the upper and middle thirds of the face.

Based on the latest anatomical evidence, the modern concept of “Anatomy-Related Injections of the Fat Compartments,” developed over the past 10 years by Dr. Ingallina, is described and illustrated in detail. Each injection procedure described in the book is illustrated directly on fresh cadaver dissection images, allowing the reader to easily correlate the injection technique with the relevant anatomy.

Inside, the reader will find:
– Over 400 images of fresh cadaver dissections with compartments stained with multiple colors and injected vessels.
– Over 100 images overlaid with drawings to facilitate understanding the anatomy of septa and ligaments.
– Several images of the facial artery and vein pathways and focused chapters on related risks.
– Several images of the author’s face demonstrating how to read the deep anatomy through the recognition of specific skin landmarks.
– Each injection procedure and related anatomy are also shown in step-by-step video guides.

“The Facial Anatomy & Volumizing Injections” represents an attempt to translate and concentrate into a book my experience of several years of cadaver dissection courses and live injection workshops, aimed at teaching facial anatomy and volumizing filler injection techniques.
The content of this book can be summed up in one sentence: how to inject fillers into the face according to the latest anatomical findings. The atlas format is a deliberate choice to make the book easy to read. Over 400 photos and drawings will guide the reader through an in-depth exploration of the anatomy required for injecting fillers and the most advanced injection techniques.

The goal is to describe the new anatomy of the fat compartments and the subjective anatomical variations directly on cadaver dissection images. The reader will understand where the cannula and needle penetrate and slide, how to avoid dangerous areas, and improve the quality of the results by understanding the topography of the fat compartments.

An important chapter is dedicated to the description of superficial skin landmarks that identify deep anatomical structures: adipose tissue, septa, ligaments, arteries, and veins. By identifying these skin landmarks, the reader can create a map of the upper and middle thirds of the face.

Various injection techniques, using a needle or cannula, for each facial region are analyzed and described in detail.

This book is intended for both experienced physicians who wish to deepen their knowledge of anatomy, and for physicians in training or beginners who wish to learn how to inject according to the latest anatomical findings. I hope it will be useful in your daily practice!
