Botulinum toxin is now widely used for facial rejuvenation. A very popular anti-aging technique in aesthetic medicine today is “mesobotulinum,” which uses more diluted botulinum toxin. This technique relaxes the muscles of the face, neck, and décolleté—the areas most prone to wrinkle formation—and thus tones and tightens the skin.

With mesobotulinum, unlike traditional treatments that target a specific muscle, large areas that have become less toned and firm over time can be treated. It can be used both at a young age, for prevention, and at a later age, to smooth out existing wrinkles and enhance radiance. This method appears to produce a significant improvement in skin hydration and micro-wrinkles, especially in specific areas.

The treatment uses very fine needles and involves superficial injections that stimulate collagen production, leading to overall facial rejuvenation.

Side effects include minor discomfort that resolves within a couple of days, such as small bruises, a slight feeling of tightness in the treated areas, and sometimes slight redness at the injection sites. Results are visible after approximately 10 days and last 4-6 months.
